概述
Puntius kamalika 是斯里兰卡西南湿润区的鲤科鱼，身体和鱼鳍缺少鲜明斑纹。朴素外观不代表容易与其他种区分，尤其旧记录中曾使用另一个近似种的名字。
分布与栖息地
特有于斯里兰卡，在克拉尼河到金河之间的西南湿润区较广泛分布，也包括两条边界河流。模式记录来自卡卢河水系。
采集环境包括河流、溪流和沼泽地，并不局限于单一河道类型。
饲养环境
缸底可按至少约 120 × 30 cm 考虑，或提供相当底面积。此尺寸来自对本种空间需求的估计，不能因成鱼不大而随意缩小。
补充说明
在正式描述前，本种曾被称作 Puntius amphibius，后者可能主要分布于印度西部。核对旧记录时，要同时关注斯里兰卡产地、无明显体鳍斑纹及头眼、须、鳞列等组合特征。
近似种可能在尾柄或鳍基部有明显黑斑，不能只用“没有鲜艳颜色”来代替完整辨认。

Overview
Puntius kamalika is a Sri Lankan cyprinid from the southwestern wet zone, lacking conspicuous markings on the body and fins. Its plain appearance does not make identification straightforward, especially because older records used the name of another similar species.
Distribution & habitat
It is endemic to Sri Lanka and widespread between the Kelani and Gin basins, including both river systems. The type record comes from the Kalu drainage.
Collections include rivers, streams, and marshland rather than a single channel type.
Aquarium setup
A footprint of approximately 120 × 30 cm or more is considered likely to be required. This is a space estimate for the species, not a reason to reduce accommodation simply because adult length is modest.
Notes
Before description it was referred to as Puntius amphibius, which may be mainly restricted to western India. When following old records, consider Sri Lankan provenance, absence of prominent body or fin marks, and the combined head, eye, barbel, and scale features.
Some similar species have conspicuous tail-base or fin-base blotches. A lack of bright coloration alone does not substitute for complete identification.
