概述
斯氏线纹鳊（Nematabramis steindachnerii）是婆罗洲北部和中部的特有鱼，体形较细长，头相对短。须虽长于头部，却不延伸到胸鳍基部之后，是与近缘种比较时的重要细节。
分布与栖息地
记录来自马来西亚砂拉越、沙巴、文莱，以及印度尼西亚北加里曼丹、东加里曼丹。模式产地为婆罗洲中部东坡的卡扬河。
同属鱼的栖地横跨急流支溪、水潭、湖泊和受干扰沼泽，不能仅据这类整体描述推定本种的精确饲养环境。
补充说明
相对细长的身体、短头及须的延伸位置应合并观察。不同近缘种也可能长须明显，单凭“须很长”不够区分。

Overview
A slender body, relatively short head, and long barbels characterize Nematabramis steindachnerii. The barbels exceed head length but stop no farther back than the pectoral-fin base, a useful distinction from some relatives.
Distribution & habitat
It is endemic to northern and central Borneo, with records in Sarawak, Sabah, Brunei, and Indonesian North and East Kalimantan. The type locality is the Kayan River on the eastern side of central Borneo.
The genus occupies a wide range of settings, from fast tributaries to pools, lakes, and disturbed swamps. This broader habitat account does not define precise aquarium requirements for the species.
Notes
Assess body slenderness, head proportions, and the endpoint of the barbels together. Long whiskers alone are insufficient to separate closely similar fishes.
