概述
细尾长臀魮（Mystacoleucus lepturus）身体较细长，背鳍外缘黑色，许多鳞片带新月形暗纹，并有一对须。它是澜沧江—湄公河上游的河流鱼。
分布与栖息地
已知分布于中国南部、老挝和泰国的湄公河上游，模式产地在云南西双版纳勐腊的澜沧江支流。越南和海南的旧记录属于其他鱼，不能纳入本种确定范围。
偏好水清、富氧的流水，底部为沙或砾石，也常出现在岩石和圆石较多的源头溪流中。
补充说明
背鳍前有朝向头部的硬刺，虽然不显眼，却容易在捞取时勾住鱼网。转移时应留意这枚刺，发现挂网不要强行拉扯。它和若干其他属都有相似结构，不能仅凭这一点就判定亲缘关系或物种。

Overview
The slender Mystacoleucus lepturus has a dark dorsal margin, numerous crescent-marked scales, and one pair of barbels. It is a river fish of the upper Lancang–Mekong system.
Distribution & habitat
Known range includes southern China, Laos, and Thailand. The type locality lies in a Lancang tributary in Mengla, Xishuangbanna. Earlier reports from Vietnam and Hainan concern other species.
Clear flowing water with ample oxygen is preferred. Sand and gravel are typical substrates, and the fish also occurs in headwater streams containing rocks and boulders.
Notes
A forward-directed spine just before the dorsal fin can snag in aquarium netting. Check for entanglement when moving fish and avoid pulling against a caught spine. Other genera possess a similar structure, so it should not serve alone as proof of either species identity or close relationship.
