概述
线细鳊（Metzia lineata）是华南及越南北部的鲤科鱼，体侧带有细长暗线。不同地区种群的形态存在差异，目前这一名称之下可能包含不止一个物种。
分布与栖息地
已知范围包括广西、贵州、云南和广东的珠江水系，福建九龙江和晋江、云南红河，以及海南、香港和越南北部红河流域。它也被引入中国其他水系，并见于老挝北部。台湾旧记录似乎属于近缘种，不能直接并入本种范围。
栖息于缓流和静水中的小溪、支流、稻田、沟渠及灌渠，水质可清可浑，通常伴有丰富水草或岸边植被。
补充说明
珠江上游南盘江种群与下游及海南的一些个体不同，越南种群也似乎存在差异。保留采集地记录比只保留一个通用名称更有价值。所属类群的亲缘关系尚未厘清，不宜根据单一外观就把不同产地个体混为一谈。

Overview
Fine dark lengthwise markings are associated with Metzia lineata, a cyprinid from southern China and northern Vietnam. Geographic differences suggest that the name may currently encompass more than one species.
Distribution & habitat
Known distribution includes the Pearl system across several southern Chinese provinces, Fujian's Jiulong and Jin rivers, the Yunnan and Vietnamese Red River basin, Hainan, and Hong Kong. Introductions have extended occurrence to other Chinese drainages and northern Laos. Older Taiwanese records appear to concern a relative rather than this species.
Quiet streams, minor tributaries, rice fields, ditches, and canals provide habitat. Water can be clear or turbid, with substantial aquatic or bankside vegetation.
Notes
Upper Pearl populations, particularly those of the Nanpan system, differ from some downstream and Hainan fish. Vietnamese populations also appear distinctive. Preserve locality information because both species limits and broader generic relationships remain unresolved.
