概述
圆吻野鲮（Labeo cyclorhynchus）幼鱼花纹漂亮，但成熟后会变暗，领地意识也往往增强。它不适合普通温和混养缸，选鱼时应按成鱼性情规划。
分布与栖息地
原产两刚果境内的刚果河中下游及加蓬奥果韦河。多在植被茂密、林冠遮阴的森林溪流中生活，底部常有淤泥、树枝与落叶，水较清但可能被单宁轻微染褐。
饲养环境
较大而维护良好的缸中需提供大量藏身处。可用大小石砾、沉木与耐受附生水草构成流水景观，安排多个阴影与缝隙，明亮区域则利于生物膜生长。软叶植物可能受损，应把这一风险纳入布局。
食性与喂食
啃食附着藻、微小动物及碎屑，日常可用优质干粮搭配红虫、水蚤、丰年虾，并加入足量植物性食物，如去壳豌豆、黄瓜、烫菠菜及西葫芦。
习性与混养
多数情况下只养一条。它对相似鱼和其他底层鱼容易产生追逐，同种争斗明显；混养更适合健壮活跃的上层鱼。只有极大且躲藏丰富的缸才可能尝试多条，每条仍可能需要直径约 1 m 的领地。
雌雄区分
繁殖状态的雌鱼预计更厚实，其他时候外观较难可靠区分。
补充说明
旧称 Labeo variegatus 仍可能出现在商品名单，但不代表另一个有效物种。幼鱼纹路随成长变淡属于正常外观变化。

Overview
Attractive juvenile patterning fades as Labeo cyclorhynchus matures, while territorial behavior often increases. Adult requirements should therefore guide any purchase rather than the appearance or shyness of a young fish.
Distribution & habitat
It occurs in the middle and lower Congo basin and the Ogooue drainage of Gabon. Shaded forest streams contain silty bottoms, branches and leaf litter, with otherwise clear water lightly stained by decomposing vegetation.
Aquarium setup
Provide numerous retreats in a spacious maintained aquarium. Stones and roots can create a river arrangement with shaded gaps and hardy attached plants. Brighter patches encourage grazing films. Delicate foliage may be damaged, so planting choices should reflect that risk.
Diet & feeding
Offer mixed prepared food, small live or frozen animals and substantial vegetable matter. Grazing combines algae, microscopic animals and debris; a purely algal menu would not reflect that mixture.
Behaviour & compatibility
A single specimen is the practical default. Similar fishes and many bottom residents can be persistently harassed. Robust active fishes occupying upper water are better candidates for companions. Multiple adults require exceptional space and shelter, with no guarantee of success.
Sexual dimorphism
Ripe females are expected to be fuller, but external sexing is otherwise difficult.
Notes
The old name Labeo variegatus persists in trade lists despite being invalid. Darkening and loss of juvenile pattern are normal age-related changes.
