分布与栖息地
记录涉及印度多数大河、巴基斯坦、尼泊尔、孟加拉国及缅甸；印度西高止山脉西坡不在所列范围内。主要生活在大河主河道和较大支流，也见于水库等人工蓄水体。
饲养环境

Overview
Occasionally sold under violet-shark names, Labeo boga is a substantial riverine cyprinid rather than a routine community fish. Its space requirements place long-term keeping beyond most domestic aquaria.
Distribution & habitat
The range includes major South Asian river systems from Pakistan to Myanmar, excluding the western slopes of the Western Ghats in the cited Indian distribution. Main channels, large tributaries and some reservoirs are used.
Aquarium setup
Prioritize water quality and extensive open swimming routes. Where an appropriately large enclosure is available, rounded rocks, gravel and limited branches can frame a river setting without crowding it.
Diet & feeding
Offer sinking foods, including suitable prepared products and live or frozen invertebrates. Bottom foraging describes where it feeds, not a requirement to subsist on sediment or leftover waste.
Behaviour & compatibility
Conspecifics and similarly shaped fishes can receive aggression, especially in confined quarters. Adequate space remains important even when social grouping is reported.
Notes
The current species concept may cover several closely related forms. A shared trade label therefore does not guarantee identical taxonomic identity.
