暹罗鲮（Gymnostomus siamensis）身体较高，头部宽大，整体呈银色，尾柄没有暗斑。它是湄公河季节性鱼群迁移中的常见成员，生活节律与雨季淹水密切相关。
分布与栖息地
见于老挝、泰国、柬埔寨和越南的湄公河水系，以及泰国中西部的湄南河、美功河流域。常在湄公河干流及较大支流出现，也见于小支流、水库和水草浓密的沼泽。

Overview
A relatively deep silver body, broad head, and unmarked caudal peduncle characterize Gymnostomus siamensis. It is a familiar participant in the Mekong's seasonal fish movements, with reproduction linked to newly flooded habitats.
Distribution & habitat
The range covers Mekong waters in Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam, together with the Chao Phraya and Mae Klong systems of Thailand. Large channels and tributaries are common settings, but smaller streams, impoundments, and densely vegetated swamps are also used.
Diet & feeding
Wild feeding includes attached biological growth, suspended plant plankton, and algae on submerged surfaces.
Behaviour & compatibility
Large seasonal migrations in the Mekong include considerable numbers of this species. Wet-season movement takes it into flooded standing-water areas away from the main channel.
Breeding
Spawning occurs in newly inundated still-water zones during the rains, connecting reproduction to the river's flood cycle.
Notes
Older classifications have used several generic names. Interpretations of relationships among Indian and Southeast Asian members of the group have differed. Body shape, broad head, and lack of a peduncle spot remain useful external identification clues.
