概述
阿里野鲮（Gymnostomus ariza）是体型较大的河流鲤科鱼。活体颜色可呈灰白、银色或偏黄，体侧细条纹的浓淡也有变化，通常在线侧上方较明显，部分大个体可见较宽的体侧中部纵带。
分布与栖息地
分布从巴基斯坦印度河流域延伸到印度、孟加拉国和缅甸，包括恒河—布拉马普特拉河及印度多条较大的河流。栖息于水质清澈、有流动的溪流和支流，模式产地位于印度南部克里希纳河流域的一条支流。
繁殖
野外在雨季进入短暂被淹没的区域繁殖。它也作为食用鱼进行商业生产，养殖中会使用催产，并在池塘阶段促进快速生长。这类生产记录不等于已经建立家庭鱼缸繁殖方法。

Overview
Gymnostomus ariza is a substantial river cyprinid with variable coloration. Living fish may look grayish, silver, or yellowish. Fine flank lines tend to be most evident above the lateral line, and some larger specimens develop a broader central stripe.
Distribution & habitat
Its distribution reaches from Pakistan's Indus system across much of India to Bangladesh and Myanmar. Major occupied drainages include the Ganges–Brahmaputra and several rivers of peninsular India. Clear running streams and tributaries are characteristic habitat; the type locality lies within the southern Indian Krishna basin.
Breeding
Natural reproduction follows wet-season flooding into temporarily submerged ground. Commercial food production also uses induced breeding and pond rearing for rapid growth. This aquaculture history does not amount to a home aquarium breeding procedure.
Notes
Several generic names have been applied to this fish. Relationships between Indian and Southeast Asian members of the broader group have also received differing interpretations. Full identification and provenance are more useful than relying on an old genus name alone.
