概述
Garra rotundinasus 是中国云南伊洛瓦底江上游水系的墨头鱼属鱼，吻宽而圆，鼻孔前有较弱的吻突。它在正式描述前曾与近似种混淆，鳞列及鳍部黑点的有无是重要辨认依据。
分布与栖息地
原产云南境内伊洛瓦底江上游，模式点在腾冲猴桥的大盈江。可能像多数同属成员一样生活于流水，但具体栖境仍不能仅由类群习性确定。
补充说明
与曾混淆的 Garra gravelyi 相比，本种吻较宽圆，侧线约三十六至三十七枚鳞、背前约十至十一枚鳞，背鳍分枝鳍条基部缺少黑点，鳃盖上端有暗斑。前者的吻较尖，侧线鳞较少，其分布涉及萨尔温江和曼尼普尔河流域。
另一近似种 Garra qiaojiensis 同样具有圆吻和单叶吻突，但本种头相对较短、身体较纤细，肛门位置更靠前。比较这类鱼应把体形、鳞列及斑纹放在一起，避免只凭吻突认种。

Overview
Native to the upper Irrawaddy system in Yunnan, Garra rotundinasus combines a broad rounded snout with a weak projection ahead of the nostrils. Earlier confusion with a related fish makes scale counts and fin markings useful checks.
Distribution & habitat
It occurs in the Chinese portion of the upper Irrawaddy. The type locality is the Daying at Houqiao, Tengchong, Yunnan. Flowing water is likely by comparison with relatives, but precise habitat details are not established.
Notes
Compared with the formerly confused Garra gravelyi, it has a rounder snout, approximately 36–37 lateral-line scales, ten or eleven predorsal scales, no black spots at the branched dorsal-ray bases, and a spot at the upper gill-cover margin. The other species has a more pointed snout and fewer lateral-line scales, with a range involving the Salween and Manipur basins.
Another lookalike, Garra qiaojiensis, shares the rounded snout and single-lobed projection. This species differs in its relatively shorter head, slimmer body, and more forward anus. Shape, scales, and markings should be assessed together rather than using the snout projection alone.
