概述
Garra kalpangi 是喜马拉雅山麓布拉马普特拉河水系的小型墨头鱼属鱼，具有两对口须和较弱的吻突。吻突表现为鼻孔前近方形区域，需要与鳞列等细节一起观察才能区分近似种。
分布与栖息地
已知记录仅来自印度东北部 Kalpangi 河，属布拉马普特拉河支流。模式点在 Lower Subansiri 地区的 Yachuli 附近，海拔约 843 m，种名也来自这条河。

尾柄周围有十六列鳞，侧线约三十二至三十三枚鳞，背前约十至十一枚鳞。体侧缺少明显纵纹，背鳍基部不见某些近似种的模糊黑点，也没有明显的背鳍宽边带或尾鳍中央黑色纵带。

Overview
Two barbel pairs and a weak snout projection characterize Garra kalpangi, a small Brahmaputra-basin fish from the Himalayan foothills. The projection appears as a roughly square area ahead of the nostrils; scale details help separate similar species.
Distribution & habitat
Records are restricted to the Kalpangi, a Brahmaputra tributary in northeastern India. The type site is near Yachuli in the Lower Subansiri area at approximately 843 m elevation. The river supplies the species name.
Notes
There are sixteen scale rows around the tail base, about 32–33 along the lateral line, and ten or eleven before the dorsal fin. Prominent flank stripes are absent, as are the faint dorsal-base spots, broad dorsal band, or central dark tail band found in some lookalikes.
The adhesive lower-lip structure of this broader group helps hold position on surfaces in moving water. Snout projections, scaling, rays, and markings vary among Garra, so identification requires their combination rather than a general algae-eater silhouette.
