概述
休氏墨头鱼（Garra hughi）体侧灰色，腹面黄白，明显深色侧带延伸到尾鳍基部。它偶见于观赏贸易，但“巧克力食藻鱼”之类泛用标签并不适合单独用于确认身份。
分布与栖息地
局限于印度南部西高止山脉的阿纳马莱、豆蔻、帕拉尼及阿尚布丘陵，记录包括潘巴尔、佩里亚尔、内亚尔、卡拉达等河系。它栖息在急流源头与支流，偏好清澈富氧、硬表面有丰富生物膜的环境。
补充说明
吻部宽圆，没有明显吻突，具有两对须。腹面至腹鳍之间以及头后至背鳍前的一些区域无鳞，但身体其他部分有鳞，不能因此称为全身无鳞鱼。下唇的吸附结构与角质口缘适应在流水硬表面附着和刮食。

Overview
Gray flanks, a pale yellowish belly and a conspicuous dark side band distinguish the appearance of Garra hughi. It is occasionally traded under a chocolate-algae-eater label, but such a common name does not by itself verify identity.
Distribution & habitat
The species is restricted to several southern Western Ghats hill ranges, including the Anamalai, Cardamom, Palani and Ashambu hills. Records occur across their associated rivers. Clear, oxygen-rich flowing headwaters and tributaries are typical habitat.
Notes
The broad rounded snout lacks a projecting process, and two barbel pairs are present. Some dorsal and ventral areas lack scales, which is different from being an entirely scaleless fish. Adhesive lip structure and firm jaw edges assist surface attachment and scraping.
