概述
泰国墨头鱼（Garra fuliginosa）整体色深，部分鳞片颜色较浅，吻部有发达突起，下唇形成吸附结构。它主要来自急流源头与支流，外观不能仅凭深色体色鉴定。
分布与栖息地
见于泰国、老挝、越南、柬埔寨的湄公河流域，泰国昭披耶河、湄功河以及半岛部分小河系也有记录。偏向快速流动的源头和支流，而不是低地大河。清澈、富氧的水与光照共同支持硬表面生物膜。
补充说明
辨识线索包括两对须、三裂吻突及尾柄深色斑。吻突较宽，向下贴近吻面；体后部可见数条不明显纹路。墨头鱼属内部关系复杂，侧纹和吻突应结合观察。

Overview
A dark body with scattered paler scales and a developed snout process characterize Garra fuliginosa. The modified lower lip assists attachment in flowing water. Its identification requires more than a generally dark appearance.
Distribution & habitat
The range includes the Mekong region, major central and western Thai drainages and smaller peninsular systems. Swift tributary and headwater reaches are favored. Clear oxygen-rich water and sunlight support growth on submerged rock surfaces.
Notes
Two barbel pairs, a broad three-part snout process and a dark caudal-peduncle marking are useful features. The process faces downward against the snout, and faint body lines may be present. Related fishes can look similar, so a combination of characters is necessary.
