概述
Garra dampaensis 是印度东北部 Seling 河记录到的小型墨头鱼属鱼，尾鳍中部有 W 形黑带。吻部没有明显横沟或吻突，结合鳞列和鳍形可与近似种区分。
分布与栖息地
已知来自米佐拉姆邦 Dampa 保护区内的 Seling 河，为 Khawthlang Tuipui 的支流，属于最终汇入孟加拉湾的卡纳普利河水系。
采集环境为清澈、浅水、流速中等偏快的溪流，底床以岩石为主。
补充说明
除尾鳍 W 形黑带外，背鳍尖端呈镰状，腹鳍基部有较长腋鳞。侧线约二十七至二十九枚鳞，背前有十至十一枚排列整齐的鳞，腹部也覆有鳞片。这些特征应结合观察，不能把腹部有鳞或尾纹单独当作唯一鉴别条件。
墨头鱼属的附着口部是适应流水的类群特征，属内不同种在吻部、鳞被及鳍部存在明显差异，商品俗名可能掩盖这些区别。

Overview
The small Garra dampaensis is known from the Seling River of northeastern India. A W-shaped dark band crosses the tail, while the snout lacks a pronounced transverse groove or proboscis. Scale patterns and fin shape help separate similar fishes.
Distribution & habitat
Records are restricted to the Seling inside Mizoram's Dampa reserve. It flows into the Khawthlang Tuipui and belongs to the Karnaphuli drainage reaching the Bay of Bengal.
Collection sites were shallow, clear streams with moderately fast current and predominantly rocky bottoms.
Notes
In addition to the tail marking, the dorsal tip is sickle-shaped and a long axillary scale lies at the pelvic-fin base. There are about 27–29 lateral-line scales, ten or eleven regularly arranged predorsal scales, and scales on the abdomen. Identification uses the combination rather than belly scaling or tail pattern alone.
An adhesive mouth is a broader adaptation to moving water within this group. Differences in snout structures, scaling, and fins matter among Garra species and can be obscured by imprecise trade labels.
