概述
Garra arupi 是布拉马普特拉河上游水系的墨头鱼属成员，吻端具有一条横向疣突带，尾柄上有数条细纹。它与同域近似种的区别依赖多项形态，不能单凭吸盘口部或一张侧面照片准确认定。
分布与栖息地
记录来自印度北部布拉马普特拉河上游，包括下迪邦谷及洛希特地区。模式采集点是 Roing 附近的 Deopani 河。
补充说明
与同域 Garra kempi 相比，本种侧线鳞较少，约三十五至三十六枚，背鳍近外缘有明显色带，吻端有较弱突起及横列疣突，尾柄可见七至八条细纹。与同域 Garra lissorynchus 相比，本种缺少尾鳍的 W 形色带，背前鳞较少，背鳍、臀鳍分枝鳍条数也有区别。
墨头鱼属的下唇形成附着结构，有助于在水流中贴住表面，口缘能刮取食物；这些是类群特征，不能代替本种实际食谱和饲养环境的直接记录。属内分类关系复杂，保留准确学名和采集信息有助于减少混淆。

Overview
An upper Brahmaputra Garra, G. arupi has a transverse row of snout tubercles and fine lines on the tail base. Identification depends on a combination of features rather than an adhesive mouth or a single side photograph.
Distribution & habitat
Records come from the upper Brahmaputra basin in northern India, including the lower Dibang Valley and Lohit area. The type collection was made in the Deopani near Roing.
Notes
Compared with the sympatric Garra kempi, it has fewer lateral-line scales, approximately 35–36, a conspicuous band near the dorsal-fin margin, a weak snout projection with transverse tubercles, and seven or eight fine tail-base stripes. Unlike the also sympatric Garra lissorynchus, it lacks a W-shaped tail marking; predorsal scale and branched fin-ray counts differ as well.
A modified lower lip helps members of the broader group adhere in moving water, while the mouth margins scrape surfaces. Those general features cannot establish this species' precise diet or aquarium requirements. Complex relationships within the genus make accurate names and collection information particularly valuable.
