概述
北江光唇鱼（Acrossocheilus beijiangensis）体侧带有深色竖纹，每侧固定具有五条，是辨识它时可关注的特征。不过，五条竖纹并非本种独有，不能单凭条纹数确认身份。
分布与栖息地
分布记录来自福建、广东、广西、海南及香港，模式产地位于广东北江流域的连县、阳山一带。
食性与喂食
野生个体摄食底部的小型无脊椎动物，也会刮取岩石和其他坚硬表面附着的生物膜。观察其取食时，应同时注意底部动物性食物和表面附着物这两种食物来源。
补充说明
光唇鱼属具有下位口、肉质唇和两对须，下唇中央有缺口；这些口部特征可与体侧竖纹一起辅助辨识。本种种名来自北江。

Overview
Five dark bars on either side are a consistent feature of Acrossocheilus beijiangensis. Bar count is useful for recognition, although one other member of the genus shares that count, so it is not sufficient by itself for identification.
Distribution & habitat
Records cover Fujian, Guangdong and Guangxi as well as Hainan and Hong Kong. The type locality lies around Lianxian and Yangshan in the Bei River system of Guangdong.
Diet & feeding
Natural feeding combines the capture of small invertebrates on the bottom with grazing over firm surfaces. Rocks and similar substrates supply attached biofilms, giving the fish another feeding resource besides animal prey.
Notes
Features of the genus include a downward-facing mouth, fleshy lips, a central break in the lower lip and two pairs of barbels. These mouth features provide additional identification context alongside the body pattern. The species name refers to the Bei River.
