概述
小巽他银鱼（Sundasalanx microps）是来自婆罗洲的微型鲱形目鱼，眼很小，成熟后仍保留类似较大型祖先幼体的外观。小巧、近似幼鱼的形态不表示它只是尚未长大的普通鱼。
分布与栖息地
分布于印度尼西亚和马来西亚的婆罗洲区域，模式产地位于卡普阿斯河。
同属多见于河流流域下部的浑浊水体，流速缓慢至中等，底质为粉砂、砂或泥。傍晚可能向水面移动的现象仅有观察线索，不能直接当作本种固定栖息在上层的习性。
饲养环境
可考虑的最低缸底约 45 × 30 cm，或相当底面积。不能仅凭极小体形就进一步压缩空间；这项最低尺寸也不等于已经建立完整成熟的家养方法。
食性与喂食
野外个体胃肠中发现过小型水生无脊椎动物与分节蠕虫。缸内可能需要丰年虾无节幼体一类微小浮游饵料，但这仍是喂养方向的推测，不能当作已经验证的固定菜单或完整营养方案。
习性与混养
可能有群游性，也可能不善争食，但均未确认。不能因为同类微型鱼常能成群混养，就把这些表现视为本种已经证实的特性。
补充说明
本种的微型化外观与发育方式有关，同属鱼在很小体形就能性成熟。识别时除小眼外，还会涉及口齿、鳃耙等微细结构，不能仅用外形像幼鱼判断身份。
运输可能相当困难，不能把体形小理解为容易运输和饲养。

Overview
Sundasalanx microps is a miniature clupeiform from Borneo with notably small eyes. Mature fish retain an appearance resembling juvenile stages of larger ancestors. A tiny, larva-like body should therefore not be mistaken for an ordinary fish that has simply not grown yet.
Distribution & habitat
It occurs in the Indonesian and Malaysian parts of Borneo; its type locality lies in the Kapuas River.
Members of the genus generally occupy turbid lower-basin waters with slow to moderate flow over silt, sand, or mud. Observations suggest possible movement toward the surface at dusk, but do not establish a fixed surface-dwelling habit for this species.
Aquarium setup
A footprint around 45 × 30 cm, or an equivalent area, is the minimum to consider. Minute body size is not a reason to reduce that space further, and the recommendation should not be mistaken for a complete, established aquarium-care method.
Diet & feeding
Wild gut contents have included small aquatic invertebrates and segmented worms. Tiny planktonic foods, such as newly hatched brine shrimp, may be needed in captivity. This remains a proposed feeding approach rather than a demonstrated complete diet.
Behaviour & compatibility
Schooling behavior and weak competition for food are possibilities, not confirmed characteristics. The habits of other miniature community fishes should not be assumed to apply here.
Notes
The larva-like adult form reflects a pattern of miniature development; related species become sexually mature at very small sizes. Identification also involves fine details of the mouth, teeth, and gill structures, beyond the obvious small eye.
Transport may be difficult. Small dimensions alone do not imply an easy fish to move or maintain.
