分布与栖息地
确认记录来自印度阿萨姆、锡金、阿鲁纳恰尔和西孟加拉的较高地带，模式产地涉及大吉岭及锡金下方的小溪。尼泊尔记录尚需确认，不丹也只是可能分布区。
它可能生活在水质清洁、溶氧丰富的小溪与支流，底部为砂砾、石块和大石，具体微栖地描述仍属推测。
饲养环境
可采用流水溪流风格，混合砂、细砾和大小圆石，沉木枝条提供洞隙与阴影并打断视线。水榕、铁皇冠等附生水草可固定在硬景观上。
无需制造猛烈激流，但应保持充足溶氧和适度水流。规律每周部分换水，维持有效过滤，避免有机污染积累，不能把流水外观等同于良好水质。
食性与喂食
同属鳅的食物通常以小昆虫、蠕虫、甲壳动物等为主，兼有少量植物与有机碎屑。人工饲养可尝试大小适口的干饲料，同时每日提供水蚤、丰年虾、红虫等小型活饵或冷冻饵料，不宜只喂干粮。
习性与混养
预计较适合谨慎搭配的混养环境，但“可能温和”不等于任何组合都安全。来自相似溪流、在开阔水层活动的小型鲤科鱼是较合适的方向，合适的群游同伴也可能帮助底栖鱼减少退缩。应观察实际争食和追逐情况，再判断组合是否稳定。

Overview
Schistura devdevi is an infrequently traded loach from upland northern India, sometimes sold as the firefly loach. Available guidance suggests that it is unlikely to be strongly aggressive. Companion selection should still prioritize compatible flowing-water conditions.
Distribution & habitat
Confirmed records concern upland Assam, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, and West Bengal. The type locality includes small streams below Darjeeling and Sikkim. Nepalese records need confirmation, while occurrence in Bhutan remains possible.
Small, clean, oxygenated streams with gravel and rocky bottoms are presumed habitat rather than a fully established microhabitat account.
Aquarium setup
A stream-style layout can combine sand, fine gravel, varied smooth stones, and branches. Form shaded gaps and interrupted sightlines, adding hardy attached plants if desired.
Extreme torrent flow is unnecessary, but oxygen availability and some circulation are important. Maintain effective filtration and regular weekly partial changes to prevent accumulated organic waste. Visible water movement alone does not ensure clean conditions.
Diet & feeding
The genus is described as feeding mainly on small insects, worms, crustaceans, and other animal prey with lesser plant material and detritus. Suitable aquarium offerings include appropriately sized dry products supplemented daily with small live or frozen foods such as water fleas, brine shrimp, and bloodworms.
Behaviour & compatibility
It is considered a possible community resident when companions are chosen carefully, rather than a fish with universally proven compatibility. Small open-water cyprinids from similar streams are promising choices. Suitable schooling companions may also help retiring bottom dwellers become more visible. Monitor feeding competition and chasing when assessing a combination.
