概述
Schistura deansmarti 是专门适应地下环境的洞穴条鳅，全身没有色素，部分个体外观上看不到眼睛。它不适合作为普通观赏鱼获取与饲养，了解其有限分布和洞穴生活方式更有意义。

Overview
A cave-adapted loach, Schistura deansmarti entirely lacks pigmentation, and some individuals have no externally visible eyes. It is unsuitable as an ordinary aquarium acquisition; its restricted distribution and subterranean adaptations are the relevant focus.
Distribution & habitat
It is endemic to the limestone Phra Sai Ngam cave system in Thung Salaeng Luang National Park, Phitsanulok, Thailand. An underground stream changes seasonally, leaving fish in stagnant pools during part of the year.
Diet & feeding
Its diet is unconfirmed but probably relies largely on benthic invertebrates and zooplankton. That hypothesis does not establish a captive feeding protocol.
Sexual dimorphism
Males possess a weakly developed suborbital flap, absent in females.
Notes
Some individuals show no external eyes; others retain vestigial eyes in a depression beneath the skin. Depigmentation and eye reduction are cave adaptations rather than an ordinary ornamental albino strain.
