仅知来自巴西帕拉州 Anapu 河，属于亚马孙河下游支流水系。

Overview
L403 is an undescribed Panaqolus, despite older references using Peckoltia. Its principal husbandry requirement is a continuing wood-based diet. Feeding routines for meat-preferring plecos should not be transferred to this fish.
Distribution & habitat
It is known from the Anapu River in Pará, Brazil, within the lower Amazon drainage.
Aquarium setup
A stream-style arrangement can combine varied stones, sand, fine gravel, and rounded rocks. Wood, ceramic tubes, and pots provide recesses, shade, and interrupted sight lines.
Wood is especially important as both shelter and a permanent feeding resource. Provide accessible surfaces rather than treating it only as background decoration.
Diet & feeding
It feeds primarily on wood and must have driftwood continuously available. Prepared products formulated for wood-eating fishes can supplement this.
Avoid animal-based foods because they are not digested efficiently. The popularity of shrimp or bloodworms for other plecos does not make them appropriate here.
Sexual dimorphism
Adult males develop conspicuous odontodes toward the rear of the body.
Breeding
Captive reproduction has been achieved, but detailed methods are not established here.
Notes
L403 is a trade code, and an older genus label does not settle identification. The fish remains unnamed at species level in the current entry.
