概述

Overview
L288 is an unnamed Peckoltia from tributaries of the lower Brazilian Amazon. It spawns in caves with male brood care. Minimum space for an adult pair should not be treated as sufficient for a larger group.
Distribution & habitat
Known records come from the Curuá Una and Uruará in Pará. The Curuá Una enters the Amazon downstream of Santarém, while the Uruará joins it near its mouth.
Aquarium setup
For an adult pair, consider a tank at least 80 cm long; a group requires larger quarters. A cave is relevant when arranging breeding.
Sexual dimorphism
Breeding males develop longer odontodes on the pectoral fins and body. From above, mature males are more slender and females stockier.
Breeding
Eggs are deposited inside caves, with the male attending the developing brood.
