概述
L163 是尚未正式命名的斑点异型鱼，成鱼仍保留明显斑点，而某些相似贸易编号成熟后会变得暗淡。购入野采新鱼时，腹部应饱满、眼睛不凹陷，严重消瘦个体的存活前景较差。
分布与栖息地
目前只记录采自巴西亚马孙地区的帕拉河。
饲养环境
可用砂或砾底、圆滑石块和水磨沉木营造溪流缸，保持较强流动、清洁及高溶氧。也可用一般布局，但水质和增氧不能降低要求。强流下部分水草不易生长，可选强健品种。多尾同养时每尾都要有独立藏处。
食性与喂食
杂食，应轮换沉底干粮、焯菠菜或螺旋藻等植物性食物，以及红虫、水蚤等活饵和冷冻饵。部分个体会喜欢啃软叶水草，种草时需观察实际表现。
习性与混养
可与多数温和鱼相处，温和灯鱼、慈鲷和其他底栖鲶鱼都是可选方向。同种之间可能发生领地冲突，藏处应分散，不能让多尾共用一个退避点。
繁殖
水族箱繁殖尚无报告，不能把其他洞穴繁殖异型的完整流程当作本鱼已验证经验。
补充说明
L163 与 L013 幼体很像，成熟后前者保留斑点、后者往往淡化。属级归属也存在讨论，编号与采集来源仍有辨识价值。

Overview
An undescribed spotted pleco, L163 retains its markings as it matures, unlike a similar trade form that becomes duller. Newly imported fish should have filled-out bellies and eyes that are not sunken; pronounced emaciation is a poor sign.
Distribution & habitat
Collections are known only from the Pará River in the Brazilian Amazon region.
Aquarium setup
A stream-style setup can use sand or gravel, rounded rocks, and worn wood with strong movement, clean water, and high oxygen. A more general layout also works if those water conditions are maintained. Robust plants are more suitable than delicate ones in strong flow. Each fish needs its own refuge when several are kept.
Diet & feeding
Provide an omnivorous menu of sinking prepared foods, vegetable items such as blanched spinach or spirulina, and live or frozen foods such as bloodworms and water fleas. Some individuals acquire a taste for softer aquarium plants.
Behaviour & compatibility
Most peaceful companions can work, including suitable characins, cichlids, and catfish. Conspecific territorial confrontations are expected, so distribute retreats instead of making several fish rely on one shelter.
Breeding
Aquarium breeding is unreported; a complete protocol from other cave-spawning plecos is not established for this fish.
Notes
L163 and L013 can be difficult to separate when young. L163 keeps its spots as it matures, while L013 usually becomes plainer. Generic placement has also been debated, making trade numbers and collection provenance useful.
