概述

Overview
Mystus rhegma is a peaceful, sociable catfish that can occupy the bottom of a community containing larger placid fishes. Adults may consume small companions, so compatibility still depends on size.
Distribution & habitat
Its range includes Laos, Thailand, and Cambodia. Rivers and inundated areas, including flooded fields, are used as habitat.
Aquarium setup
Provide a base around 90 × 30 cm or more. Hiding places are necessary even though the decorative style is flexible. Long-leaved plants can resemble part of its natural environment. Floating cover reduces light reaching the bottom and may encourage the fish to emerge.
Diet & feeding
Suitably sized live, frozen, and dry foods are generally accepted readily. Alternate different foods to maintain variety.
Behaviour & compatibility
Larger peaceful rasboras, barbs, labyrinth fishes, and cichlids are possible companions. A calm disposition is compatible with potential predation on tiny fish, so avoid pronounced size mismatches.
A small group can be housed where adequate space is available, allowing for its social habits.
Sexual dimorphism
Males have a relatively long genital papilla immediately before the anal fin.
