补充说明
红钩银板（Myloplus rubripinnis）是相似的近缘种，但本种体侧黑竖带是明显特征。旧属名及多种商品名可能混用，购入时不宜只看“红钩”标签。

Overview
Myloplus schomburgkii has a prominent black vertical flank bar and is sometimes sold alongside or under the name of redhooks. It needs company and can accelerate abruptly when frightened, making a secure cover and reassuring shelter important.
Distribution & habitat
Records include parts of Venezuela, Peru, and Brazil, with the Nanay and Orinoco among the occupied river systems.
Aquarium setup
Provide a footprint around 120 × 38 cm or more and keep at least five. Subdued light and sheltered areas help fish settle. Fit the lid closely because startled individuals can leave the water.
Living plants may need replacement even when durable varieties are chosen. Soft, suitable artificial vegetation offers an alternative source of cover.
Diet & feeding
Plant material should predominate. Cucumber, zucchini, peas, and greens can accompany algae tablets, spirulina products, and vegetable flakes. Other aquarium foods are also accepted, with worms and brine shrimp useful as supplements.
Behaviour & compatibility
Larger peaceful fishes are generally appropriate companions, whereas tiny ones may be consumed. Related silver dollars commonly use the middle and upper aquarium, allowing larger placid catfishes to occupy the lower space. Adequate room is still needed for the whole group.
Sexual dimorphism
The dorsal fin is more pointed in males.
Notes
The similar Myloplus rubripinnis lacks this species' conspicuous black flank bar. Historical generic names and several trade labels can overlap, so a redhook label alone is unreliable.
