概述
Lates angustifrons 是坦噶尼喀湖的大型捕食鱼，成体可长到 200 cm。幼鱼虽曾出现在观赏鱼贸易中，终身安置却远超普通玩家能力，甚至大多数公共水族馆也难以容纳，不适合作为家庭观赏鱼购买。
分布与栖息地
仅分布于坦噶尼喀湖。幼鱼多在沿岸活动，成鱼则可见于全湖各处，通常靠近湖底。
饲养环境
成鱼需要数万升级别的水体与极强的过滤系统，排泄负担远比造景选择重要。幼鱼暂时能放进某个鱼缸，并不能说明该设施适合终身饲养。
食性与喂食
野外高度食鱼，主要捕食慈鲷。人工幼鱼曾接受虾及鱼类等食物，成鱼则需要大量鱼类食物；食量和后续空间都必须按成年阶段考虑。
习性与混养
能被吞下的鱼都有风险，成年口径使长期可用伙伴十分有限。曾有幼鱼与大型慈鲷、龙鱼和大型鲶鱼同养，但这种阶段性的共处不能保证成年后安全。

Overview
The Tanganyika predator Lates angustifrons can reach 200 cm. Juveniles have appeared in aquarium shops, yet lifelong accommodation exceeds the capabilities of ordinary keepers and even many public aquaria. It is unsuitable as a home aquarium purchase.
Distribution & habitat
It is endemic to Lake Tanganyika. Young fish occupy shoreline areas, while adults occur throughout the lake and usually remain near the lake bed.
Aquarium setup
Adult accommodation is on the scale of tens of thousands of liters, supported by enormous filtration capacity. Waste handling matters far more than decoration. A tank that temporarily contains a juvenile does not resolve the problem of permanent adult housing.
Diet & feeding
Wild feeding is strongly fish-based, especially on cichlids. Captive juveniles have accepted shrimp and fish, but adults require substantial quantities of fish food. Feeding demand must be considered together with eventual housing needs.
Behaviour & compatibility
Any fish small enough to swallow is vulnerable, leaving few realistic long-term companions for an adult. Juveniles have shared aquaria with large cichlids, arowanas, and catfishes, but those observations do not establish safe adult compatibility.
