双须缺鳍鲶（Kryptopterus bicirrhis）活体并不透明，不能与常见透明玻璃鲶混为一谈。它性情较温和、略胆小，喜结群，适合成熟稳定的缸以及体形、活动程度相近的伙伴。
分布与栖息地
广布泰国、老挝、柬埔寨、越南、马来半岛和苏门答腊、婆罗洲、爪哇等地，见于湄公河、湄南河及多个巽他群岛河系。部分地区偏好较快水流，湄公河低地洪泛区也很常见，雨季末在西加里曼丹湖区数量较多。
饲养环境
底面积至少参考 120 × 45 厘米。具体造景不苛刻，但应保持弱光并留遮蔽，完全空旷容易紧张。只入生物系统成熟、水质稳定的缸，避免水化学快速波动。
食性与喂食
天然捕食甲壳类、其他无脊椎动物和小鱼，缸养不必依赖活鱼。可用多样下沉干粮、活冷冻红虫、水蚯蚓，偶尔适口小蚯蚓。
习性与混养
建议四尾以上一起养。较大、强势或过分活跃的鱼会让它在竞争中吃亏，适合温和且大小相近的鱼；体形太小的伙伴有被捕食风险。
雌雄区分
成年雄鱼预计较纤细，雌鱼较丰满，仍需保留不确定性。
补充说明
旧水族文献常把本种名字用于透明的 Kryptopterus vitreolus。本种身体不透明这一点很有辨识价值，不能只凭店铺的“玻璃鲶”标签核对身份。

Overview
Unlike the familiar transparent glass catfish, Kryptopterus bicirrhis has an opaque body. It is a relatively peaceful, somewhat timid schooling species. Mature stable water and companions of comparable size and activity are more suitable than a boisterous mixed tank.
Distribution & habitat
Its range spans mainland Southeast Asia and the Greater Sunda Islands, including major Mekong, Chao Phraya, and island drainages. Some records emphasize faster water, while lowland floodplains are important in the Mekong. It is abundant in the western Bornean Sentarum lake system near the end of the wet season.
Aquarium setup
Provide at least the suggested 120 by 45 cm footprint. Exact decor is flexible, but subdued light and cover help prevent skittish behavior. Introduce it only to an established aquarium with stable water chemistry.
Diet & feeding
Natural prey include crustaceans, other invertebrates, and small fish. Live fish are unnecessary in captivity; use varied sinking foods and appropriate live or frozen invertebrates.
Behaviour & compatibility
Four or more are recommended to support schooling behavior. Much larger, forceful, or very active fish can outcompete it. Choose peaceful comparably sized companions, while recognizing the risk to much smaller fish.
Sexual dimorphism
Adult males are expected to be slimmer than females, making build a tentative sexing cue.
Notes
Older aquarium literature frequently applied this name to transparent Kryptopterus vitreolus. The opaque body is a useful distinction, and a generic glass-catfish sales label should not determine identification.
