概述
Hypoptopoma incognitum 是分布较广的吸甲鲶，模式标本来自玻利维亚伊特内斯河，巴西亚马孙及东部水系也有记录。不能因为同属鱼外观相似，就忽略不同河系记录对应的身份。
分布与栖息地
模式产地位于玻利维亚东北部贝尼省的伊特内斯河。分布记录还包括亚马孙中下游的大部分地区、托坎廷斯河，以及巴西东北部一些直接流入大西洋的小河。
饲养环境
建议底面积至少约 80 × 30 cm。水体可保持微酸至近中性，pH 约 6.0～7.5；其余温度、硬度按适宜范围维持。

Overview
Hypoptopoma incognitum is a widely distributed suckermouth armored catfish. Its type material came from Bolivia's Iténez, with additional records across Amazonian and eastern Brazilian drainages. Similar appearance among congeners does not remove the need for reliable identification.
Distribution & habitat
The type locality lies in the Iténez River in Beni, northeastern Bolivia. Further records cover much of the central and lower Amazon, the Tocantins, and several smaller northeastern Brazilian rivers reaching the Atlantic directly.
Aquarium setup
A footprint of at least approximately 80 × 30 cm is recommended. Mildly acidic to near-neutral water around pH 6.0–7.5 is indicated, with temperature and hardness maintained within the appropriate ranges.
