概述
Hyphessobrycon borealis 是体型很小的灯鱼，没有明显肩斑，尾柄有椭圆暗斑。它在野外浅水岸边形成大群，平缓水流和群体环境是已知栖地的重要特点。
分布与栖息地
在法属圭亚那分布较广，记录于奥亚波克、阿普鲁阿格、卡乌、库鲁、锡纳马里、马纳和马罗尼等河流。多见浅水、流速很小的边缘区域，鱼群规模较大。
补充说明
尾柄椭圆斑并未覆盖整个尾柄高度，只稍伸到尾鳍中央鳍条基部，不延伸到鳍尖。可靠鉴别仍要结合鳍条、鳞片等细节，不能把所有无肩斑、带尾斑的小灯鱼都归为本种。

Overview
A very small tetra, Hyphessobrycon borealis lacks a shoulder spot and carries an oval tail-base blotch. Large groups occupy shallow margins in nature, making low-current shoreline habitat a clear feature of its known ecology.
Distribution & habitat
Records span the Oyapock, Approuague, Kaw, Kourou, Sinnamary, Mana, and Maroni systems in French Guiana. It tends to occupy shallow marginal areas with little current and forms large schools there.
Notes
The oval blotch does not cover the full depth of the caudal peduncle. It reaches only slightly onto the bases of the central tail rays, never their tips. Reliable identification still requires additional fin and scale characters rather than tail spotting alone.
