食性与喂食
主要提供红虫、虾、蚯蚓、颤蚓等适口活饵与冷冻饵，干饲料通常不接受。饲养安排要确保这种食物能长期供应，不能只跟随其他鱼的颗粒菜单。
习性与混养
会吞食小鱼，可在足够大缸中与体型相近的鱼同养，但过分活跃或凶猛的伙伴会让它退缩。对同种领地意识很强，多尾需要非常大的空间，不能把独养参考尺寸当作群养尺寸。

Overview
A bottom-dwelling knifefish using a weak electric field, Gymnotus pedanopterus favors dim, sheltered conditions. Copper sensitivity and strong territoriality toward its own species are key care considerations beyond its attractive pattern.
Distribution & habitat
It occurs in Peru and Brazil, generally in slow or still waters with an apparent preference for turbidity. Deeper parts of river channels are also used, with a mainly benthic lifestyle.
Aquarium setup
For one specimen, a 120 by 30 by 30 cm aquarium is suggested, with larger housing for companions. Provide abundant cover using stones, wood, roots, and plants. Subdued lighting or floating cover encourages activity.
Diet & feeding
Offer suitable live and frozen bloodworms, shrimp, earthworms, and tubificid worms. Dry food is usually refused, so plan for a continuing supply of appropriate alternatives.
Behaviour & compatibility
Small fish become prey. Similarly sized companions can work in a sufficiently large aquarium, while boisterous or aggressive fish may cause withdrawal. Conspecific territoriality is strong, and multiple individuals require far more room than the suggested single-fish setting.
Notes
Specialized tissue near the tail generates a weak field, and electroreceptors detect disturbances for navigation and communication, even in darkness. The fish is sensitive to several medications, particularly copper-containing products.
