概述
Colomesus tocantinensis 是巴西的小型淡水河鲀，可能尚未进入观赏鱼贸易。背部浅黄、具五道暗横带，下颌没有横向皮瓣，是辨识时可留意的特征。

补充说明
鳃盖下缘有缺刻，外形近倒 V 字，背鳍和臀鳍鳍条数也较少，可与近似种区分。已知标本尺寸不代表可靠的成体上限，它可能继续长大。

Overview
A small Brazilian freshwater puffer, Colomesus tocantinensis may not yet have entered aquarium trade. A pale yellow back with five dark crossbands and the absence of chin flaps are useful identifying features.
Distribution & habitat
The only known locality is the type site in the Tocantins River near Porto Nacional, Tocantins State, Brazil.
Breeding
Reproduction is unknown. A relative’s strategy of drifting larvae entering floodplain nurseries should not be assumed to apply here.
Notes
A notch along the lower opercular edge creates an inverted-V outline, and relatively low dorsal and anal ray counts help separate it from similar species. Available specimen sizes do not establish a dependable adult maximum; larger growth is expected.
