概述
益秀朝鲜鳅（Cobitis koreensis）体侧常有十条或更多暗带，背部带鞍状斑，上体还有不规则小点。自然寒冷季节可进入摄食很少的半休眠状态，但日常水族饲养仍应按既定稳定范围管理。
分布与栖息地
韩国特有，在韩国北部与西部多条河流中较常见，模式地点属于汉江支流。似偏好浅溪和小河中的中快流，底部沙砾岩石交错，清澈高氧环境在暖季能形成丰富附着生物。
饲养环境
至少参考 100 × 30 厘米底面积，砂砾底加大小圆石及根木。大容量过滤配合增氧，循环量可参考每小时十至十五倍缸水；耐流附生植物可增加遮挡。避免未成熟新缸，规律部分换水维持稳定。
食性与喂食
主要吃摇蚊幼虫和底栖无脊椎动物，可接受下沉干粮，但仍需规律搭配小型活冷冻水蚤、丰年虾或红虫。
习性与混养
与温和且体形合适的溪流鱼较相容，可考虑耐流小鱼、部分温和鳅和虾虎。按同属饲养建议可四尾以上同养；不应与强占底部领地的鱼搭配，卵或鱼苗也可能被吃。
雌雄区分
雄鱼成熟后第一胸鳍鳍条延长，第二条基部出现增厚结构；雌鱼通常略大且体躯更厚。
补充说明
与近似的小型种相比，本种体侧条纹更多，上体有斑点，辨认宜综合而非只看颜色深浅。眼下棘可受惊竖起，捞取时小心。

Overview
Ten or more flank bars, dorsal saddles, and scattered upper-body spots help identify Cobitis koreensis. In the wild, feeding decreases during a cold-season semidormant period. This seasonal observation should be distinguished from routine stable aquarium care.
Distribution & habitat
It is endemic to Korea and relatively widespread across northern and western South Korean drainages, including a Han tributary at the type locality. Shallow streams with moderate or fast flow appear favored, with sand, gravel, and rocks supporting rich seasonal biofilm in clear oxygenated water.
Aquarium setup
Provide at least a 100 by 30 cm footprint. Sand or gravel, rounded stones, and roots give structure. Substantial filtration with aeration is recommended, with suggested turnover around ten to fifteen tank volumes hourly. Hardy attached plants can add cover. Use a mature system and regular partial changes to maintain stability.
Diet & feeding
Feed varied small animal foods, reflecting its natural consumption of midge larvae and other benthic invertebrates. Sinking prepared foods can accompany regular live or frozen supplements.
Behaviour & compatibility
Suitable companions are peaceful stream fishes of compatible size, including selected loaches and rheophilic gobies. Genus-level guidance suggests at least four conspecifics. Avoid aggressive substrate defenders, and account for possible predation on eggs or fry.
Sexual dimorphism
Mature males show an extended first pectoral ray and thickening at the second ray’s base. Females are typically larger and fuller-bodied.
Notes
Relative to a similar smaller species, the greater number of bars and spotted upper body are useful together. Subocular spines can erect under stress, requiring care during handling.
