概述
Balroglanis macracanthus 是偶尔进入观赏贸易的小型木栖鲶鱼。它白天藏在淹水木结构间，夜间出来觅食，布置时要重视密集缝隙和阴影。
分布与栖息地
被认为是巴西内格罗河上游特有鱼，模式产地位于该水系。野外白天借沉木及其他水下木结构躲避。

Overview
Occasionally available to aquarists, Balroglanis macracanthus is a small wood-associated catfish. It shelters among submerged timber during daylight and forages at night, making shaded crevices central to its aquarium layout.
Distribution & habitat
It is considered endemic to Brazil’s upper Negro system, which includes its type locality. Submerged woody structures provide daytime refuges.
Aquarium setup
A flowing-stream layout can combine varied stones, sand, fine gravel, and worn boulders. Arrange branches, clay tubes, and pots into a network of sheltered gaps and shaded resting places.
Diet & feeding
Experience with the group in which it was formerly placed suggests trying sinking preparations plus small live or frozen bloodworms and Tubifex. Related fishes may leave shelter and feed at the surface after acclimation; this should not be treated as a confirmed surface-dwelling habit of this species.
Breeding
Internal insemination is thought widespread in this family, with females retaining eggs and sperm packets until suitable conditions permit fertilization and laying. This family-level account is not a documented aquarium breeding result for this species.
