Overview
Aphyosemion rectogoense is a killifish known from the Batéké plateau and neighboring areas in southeastern Gabon.
Distribution & habitat
Records concern the Léconi-Djouya and upper Mpassa rivers within the wider Ogooué basin. The type locality lies about 6 km west of Léconi township. These localized records do not establish occurrence throughout Gabon.
Notes
The origin of the epithet was not explicitly explained. It may relate to early confusion with Aphyosemion ogoense, but that interpretation remains tentative.
